Family and friends of Frances gathered Tuesday, Sept 20, in Houston for her funeral. Please take a moment out of your day to think of them.

We received a note from Gloria Rubac of the Committee to Free Frances Newton saying that Frances' family is having trouble paying for the funeral, the plot, and the burial. As anyone who has had to arrange a funeral for one of their loved ones knows, funerals are quite expensive.

Gloria said that Jewel Nelms, Frances' mother, was very hesitant to even ask for contributions as she is such an independent and proud woman, but she said if someone really insisted on doing something, that a contribution would be more helpful than flowers.
